10 million French households still use an oil-fired boiler, a heating solution that is both polluting and inefficient.

To encourage the replacement of outdated boilers and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the French government has introduced two major financial incentives under the 2019 Finance Law.

Energy Transition Tax Credit (CITE)
This tax credit helps cover the installation or removal costs linked to replacing an oil-fired boiler with more efficient heating systems using renewable energy. It applies to homeowners, tenants, or occupants of a primary residence more than two years old.

Boiler Conversion Bonus
All households are eligible for this financial incentive, with the amount calculated according to income level. Low-income households benefit from higher bonuses to support their renovation project.
